Day 1 - QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC
Board the Spirit of Nantucket in Québec City, with time in the evening to explore independently. The only walled city in North America, Québec City is filled with historic buildings and battlements. Go to the top of the Citadel to get a perspective on how the city and the St. Lawrence River are intertwined. Don’t miss the many beautiful basilicas and shops and galleries of the Old City. D

Day 2 - CRUISING LAC ST. PIERRE / MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC
Sailing along the great St. Lawrence River toward Montréal, cruise Lac St. Pierre, a major component of the St. Lawrence lowlands, where most of the area has been protected and remains pristine. The lowlands is a vital stop along the migration routes of nearly 300 species of birds. Standing at the confluence of the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers, the island of Montréal derives its name from Mt. Royal, which dominates the city. A sightseeing excursion takes you along Saint Paul Street and down to the festive waterfront piers that feature street entertainers, shops and food stands. Enjoy the shops and galleries of the Old City and, a walking tour of historic Montréal and Vieux Montréal, past the Ville Marie Mission site, Château Ramezay, and the Bonsecours Market area. BLD

Day 3 - CRUISING THE ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY
It’s especially interesting to cruise the St. Lawrence Seaway on a ship like the Spirit of Nantucket. Her small size allows you to travel through seven sets of locks that raise the ship 226 feet. BLD

Day 4 - PRESCOTT (FOR OTTAWA), ONTARIO
A full-day excursion takes you via motorcoach to Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Once a booming frontier lumber town, Ottawa captivates visitors with the tranquil charm of its boulevards, gardens, and graceful architecture. Explore the National Gallery of Canada, a cultural showplace in a modern glass complex. Alternatively, you may explore Prescott on your own, visiting Fort Wellington, built to protect the St. Lawrence River during the War of 1812. BLD

Day 5 - SCENIC CRUISING THOUSAND ISLANDS / KINGSTON, ONTARIO / LAKE ONTARIO
In the morning, cruise through the pristine beauty of Ontario’s Thousand Islands region, which includes 1,865 glacier-sculpted islands. Summer homes cluster on the shores, including Boldt Castle, a mass of towering peaks built early in the 20th century by hotel tycoon George Boldt, whose chef — so the story goes — invented Thousand Island dressing. Arrive this afternoon in Kingston on the shores of Lake Ontario. Tour the highlights of this charming city on foot or on a Kingston Confederation Trolley Tour. BLD

Day 6 - TORONTO, ONTARIO
Founded in 1793 and designed in the style of a European city, Toronto is both Ontario’s capital and the largest city in Canada. Discover the city’s most outstanding attractions, including St. Lawrence Market, Art Gallery of Ontario, the Flatiron Building, Queen’s Park, and the University of Toronto, followed by a brief walking tour of the city’s Chinatown. Discover more of this fascinating city at your own pace in the afternoon and evening. BLD

Day 7 - CRUISING WELLAND CANAL (FOR NIAGARA FALLS)
Leaving Lake Ontario, cruise to Welland Canal, your jumping-off point for an exploration of Niagara Falls. The 27-mile canal, provides passage for cargo ships between Lakes Erie and Ontario. Eight locks create a lift of 330 feet. The Spirit of Nantucket will transit Locks 1 through 7, and then stop to allow you to disembark for a motorcoach excursion to Niagara Falls. From the Canadian side of the falls, you may board the legendary Maid of the Mist for a close-up view of both the Canadian and American Falls. The Canadian, or “Horseshoe,” Falls are 177 feet high, with
a crest of more than 2,215 feet outlining a deep curve, giving them their distinctive name. The American Falls are higher at 184 feet and 1,075 feet wide, flowing in a fairly straight line. BLD

Day 8 - BUFFALO, NEW YORK
Disembark the Spirit of Nantucket after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight home. B
