Wilderness Adventurer Cruise Review
Itinerary: Alaska Inner Reaches Western Coves - July 2013
It was the trip of a lifetime! The cruise was wonderful. We were able to get to know everyone and go to places that were not on the usual route. For sure no big ships did what we did.
Weather was ‘perfect’ – not one rainy day, almost tropical. The crew kept wondering if we were really in Alaska because the weather was so phenomenal. Mary got her wish and saw lots and lots of whales (humpbacks). We both learned to kayak, an exciting first for us, and got to bushwhack through the Tongass National Forest. Mary even did a polar plunge – Brrr! Jumping off the boat into the glacier water. The crew was fantastic!! They are all so passionate about their jobs and each had their own specialty that they were eager to share. As you know we are particular eaters, veggies, no meat or diary. The cooks did an outstanding job feeding us veggie people. The Chef Aldo did better than we have eaten in veggie restaurants. Our cabin Trailblazer Cabin 312, was small, as were all the cabins on the ship, we were happy with a very comfortable queen bed.
We are ready to go again once the coffers refill – even though it was pricey to us, it was worth every penny! Thanks for you service in making this dream trip come true.
P.S. The staff said the weather was probably too warm for our furry friends the bears, so we did not see any. Did see bear signs but we have seen them before and did not miss seeing them again.
