Safari Endeavour Cruise Review
Itinerary: Discoverer's Glacier Country - June 2015
Linda, thank you for all your help in arranging a "not to be described" vacation! Kathy has never gone on a vacation lasting over 10 days without expressing a readiness (desire) on or about the 10th day to head for home - until Un Cruise! !st time in 45 years she was not ready to come home from a vacation or trip, and she would go again. Your recommendations about cabin, ship, timing, etc., were all perfect.
Since returning, I have had many occasions to recommend Un Cruise and Sunstone to many of my friends and colleagues. Some have asked for more details and you may be hearing from them about cruises for next year. I have been sharing the Wall Street Journal with them. It is a great endorsement for the Sarari Endeavor and the crew. And we cannot say enough good things about the Un Cruise crew. They work so hard, are so knowledgeable, and are so unfailingly upbeat that it is a pleasure being in their company. If you had told us beforehand that we would miss the crew after leaving the ship, we would have been more than a bit skeptical, but we do miss them.
The land tour was also more than we expected. Who would have thought that a 5+ hour bus ride, on a school bus no less, would be an incredible 5+ hours? Kirsti was our driver and she was, as described by everyone on the bus, "amazing." She was so knowledgeable and she spotted and stopped to show us and explain so much along the way, including grizzlies, caribou, moose, etc., etc. I don't know how she maintained her enthusiasm, but she had something interesting to offer for virtually the entire bus ride!
About the high points, too many to list. The low points, we booked too short of a cruise!! The only thing that went bump (and it was only a bump) was that the All Alaska vouchers were not included in the trip documents. Having them in advance would have provided more clarity about what we could expect in terms some of the travel arrangements. When I called the Un Cruise after hours number from the Captain Cook, however, they were right on it and we soon heard from Ula at All Alaska and she sent us everything we needed.
We would book an Alaska trip again and will look seriously at the Galapagos cruise. We will also think of you if any time we consider a cruise anywhere in the world. Thank you so much for all of your thoughtful advice which helped to make the cruise such a memorable experience for us.
