Safari Endeavour Cruise Review
Itinerary: Discoverer's Glacier Country - June 2013
The cruise was fantastic!
We were so happy to have picked a small cruise where everything seemed to be more intimate. We'd never been to Alaska or on a cruise and this one was just great! I believe there were about 75 passengers on board and within a day or two, it felt like one big family.
The crew was so attentive and nice. We were particularly impressed with how they all, including the captain, pitched in to do a little bit of everything. Kendra, the captain, was even there to help haul in kayakers! So glad we chose a boat that didn't go into any of the ports. What was offered instead was hiking, kayaking and small boat tours on 10 person zodiacs.
These activities were every day, and always greeted with a hot buttered rum or some other warm drink when we returned to the boat. The food was amazing! Every meal was a culinary delight.
We were in a Captain Category cabin. We wanted a king bed which worked well for us.
The other reason we loved the small cruise was because Kendra, the Captain could get into such beautiful smaller inlets that I know the big cruise lines never see. The scenery was incredible and the crew was very knowledgeable about everything we were seeing. The whole thing was simply wonderful! Absolutely no low points.
We were glad we came in a day prior into Juneau, made travel less stressful. It is the capital of Alaska with lots to see. We also booked the helicopter over the glacier which was quite an experience.
