National Geographic Sea Lion Cruise Review
Itinerary: Exploring Alaska's Coastal Wilderness - June 2011
Our trip to Alaska was wonderful in every way. To put this comment into perspective: this was our 7th trip to Alaska, and it is tied for first place on the list. (The other 1st place trip was a totally different kind of experience and therefore impossible to compare.) Another perspective is that I previously had 5 of what I call "trips of a lifetime", and to include this one, I am either going to have to go to 6 or bump another trip from my list of favorites.
Yes, the weather, the whales, and the glaciers all cooperated, and everything about the Sea Lion was beyond expectations. That included the crew, the food, the naturalists, and the welcoming bottle of wine in the cabin. We had never been on any type of cruise in our prior travels, and to quote John: "This is definitely the best way to experience Southeast Alaska".
I have already recommended a Lindblad expedition to friends, and we hope to book another trip in the future. I would be happy to provide any additional information that other travelers might find helpful.
Thanks for your expert assistance.
