American Star Cruise Review
Itinerary: Historic South & Golden Isles - May 2012
We came in a day early and stayed at the Holiday Inn in Charleston, we then took the transfer back to Charleston after the cruise and spent a few more days there.
Our time spent on the American Star was delightful. The other passengers were all very interesting to talk with and get to know. Our room 218 Balcony, Category AAL, was nice and clean and the crew all tried hard to help all passengers. The ship is laid out very well and easy to navigate. The elevator came in handy when we were coming back from shore excursions and just to tired to do the stairs. Otherwise with all the good food, I did try to use the stairs. There was a nice mix of things "to do" or "not do" at each stop along the way; this made it very relaxing to be able to pick and choose. Our meals were all very nice, fresh and good portions, wine and beer at dinner and lunch was appreciated, and the onboard entertainment was good and the lectures were all very informative. We especially liked our stop in Beaufort, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia.
We would recommend this to any and all of our friends, and we will probably take another cruise with American Cruise Lines in the future.
