Silver Shadow Cruise Review
Itinerary: Alaska's Inside Passage and Glaciers - September 2015
Linda so sorry this took me so long to get to you. I know you like reviews from your clients for feedback on the onboard experience.
Burt and I will tell you that the onboard experience was beyond our expectations in all categories.
We started in Vancouver and came in a day early. From Florida it was a very long day. We stayed in a lovely hotel Silverseas provided in walking distance of everything. They picked us up with our luggage and took us to the ship. There were no lines, no crowds, almost like they were all waiting just for US to arrive. We were taken to our cabin and the pampering started. We met our cabin steward and our butler right off. Asked a number of questions to learn our likes and wants. What we wanted in the refrig, what kind of pillow, when we would like our bed turned down, filled our ice bucket etc. Marco and Avi were there to take care of us and they did.
The weather got a little colder as we sailed north. Your clothing list had us well prepared. Alaska is beautiful at every turn but you already know that. We visited Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau. We did most everything you suggested, from shore excursions to the Alaska Fudge Shop (as you know since we mailed you some).
We docked at times next to the mega ships. Thousands of people getting on and off, long lines everywhere. We were almost a yacht compared and felt very special when we walked off our luxury vessel.
We were mid ship and loved our balcony. Our cabin was quiet, beautifully furnished, the bathroom amenities were first class. The towels and sheets were high quality. Our storage space was adequate. We loved the lighting in the cabin for reading in our bed at night.
Food was exceptional. Well prepared, great variety, and generous portions. I ate mostly vegetarian and had no issues. Breakfast and lunch buffets were wonderful. Such an array of food, so beautifully presented.
Silver Shadow was perfect for us. I know you do lots of the high activity ships, but we really wanted more luxury for our 45th wedding anniversary and that is what we had. Sitting on our balcony sipping fresh orange juice from room service every morning watching the beautiful Alaska sea and land. it was one of the best trips we have had and has left us with great memories.
We will look into the Silversea Galapagos for our next cruise in a year or two. Thank you for everything. Glad you enjoyed the fudge as was much as we did.
