Our trip was absolutely wonderful!! The ship was all we thought it would be - and more. Very knowledgeable speakers who were always on hand when you needed them, marvellous crew in the dining areas, wonderful food (we've put on pounds!!), excellent staterooms and most of all the chance to see the incredible wildlife and scenery. Highlights? Too many to tell but going out on zodiacs to be among about 20 feeding hump-back whales and seeing them breaching, watching the playful sea otters, seeing bears, wolves (!!), orcas, dolphin and also spending time on a lighthouse with the keeper and his wife who have been there for 30 years. It was all a magical experience and one we will never forget. As if that wasn't enough our fellow passengers were all extremely sociable, like-minded people and at times we thought the "party" might interfer with the wildlife encounters, but it never quite did!!

We will certainly recommend Cruise West to anyone who wants a "real" Alaskan experience as opposed to the "floating hotels" we came across from time to time: we are so glad we weren't on one of them!!
