Alaska's Inside Passage PLUS Denali - May 26, 2004

Our flight into Fairbanks was no problem, Cruise West was there to pick us up. A sweet young man with a big smile on his face recognized our badges and came up to us. Pikes Waterfront Lodge was a lovely introduction to Alaska. The wine and cheese reception had us meeting our fellow passengers.

Activities in Fairbanks were fun and educational. The trip to Denali fantastic, the ride into Denali indescribable. A bear came within a few feet of our bus, we have pictures.

Hotel in Anchorage, lunch at Alyeska Resort all high points. and then the cruise...

Oh my, how does one describe the day by day adventure. Each day out doing the prior. Glacier Bay was not to be missed. We were so close to the glaciers, we could see the big Princess ship way way out from where we were. We saw sea lions on the ice as we passed right by. One of the crew picked up a chunk of ice and we had it in our drinks that night. You can't believe the color and texture of an iceberg. 

The food was very good and well presented. Better than we expected. My only complaint on the whole trip is it had to end. We both thank you so much for taking so much time with us and answering our zillion questions. We will send all our friends your way.
