Wilderness Inside Passage - May 21, 2005

Dear Linda,

How can I thank you. Mark who you know was dragged on this trip bitching the whole way totally turned his attitude around the first afternoon on the ship. We were sailing out of Juneau and within 20 minutes we saw our first whale. Up close and personal, just like promised. It was something to be continued on a regular basis the whole trip. The naturalists said we saw more whales than excepted for a May sailing.

Our time out on the zodiacs was not to be missed. I have bragging rights of going to Elfin Cove. They said Cruise West is the only ship that visits their "city". What a different life they live and to still be in the United States.The nature exploration on this trip was perfect for the retired science teacher in me. Being able to sit with different people at each dinner was great as we got to meet people from all over the world. One lunch we ate with Roger, the Park Ranger in Glacier Bay National Park, that was special.
