Alaska Cruise Review: Spirit of Alaska

Glacier Wonderland - June 7, 2004

We are a family of four, my husband and two teenage sons. We had been in Alaska for four days visiting the Anchorage area. We felt the best way to see the area of Prince William Sound would be by boat. For this we worked with Linda to arrange our cruise.

We met the Cruise West group at the Sheraton Hotel in the afternoon as our documents directed. We were glad to see another family with teen boys. We were welcomed and our excitement was highhanded by the energetic Cruise West crew. They seemed as eager to get on the ship as we were.

Very interesting ride down to Whittier. Whittier is an education in itself. We found our cabin, small that it is, but we were warned of this so more or less expected the size. It is nice to have a window.

We all very much enjoyed our short cruise. The food was delicious, the crew knowledge, fun and professional. We enjoyed Cordova and the chance to see a traditional fishing village.

We felt the cruise was a welcome extension of our time in Alaska. We only wish we had time to see more of the state.
