Barcelona to Honfleur

Join Cruise West's Dick and Leslie West on this adventure which takes you into Spain, Portugal and France, where evidence of Roman rule and Moorish invasion await your discovery, along with incredible natural beauty. You’ll see Islamic influences in Granada’s famed Alhambra Palace and Seville’s 14th-century Real Alcázar. Sample some of the world’s best port in Oporto, called Portus Calle by the Romans. Sail up the Bordeaux River, perfect for connoisseurs of vistas and vintages. After a day at historic Normandy Beach, your journey will end in Honfleur.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Barcelona, Spain
Arrive in Barcelona, Spain and check into your included hotel. This evening join Dick and Leslie West for a Chairman’s Reception.

Day 2 - Barcelona, Spain
Morning at leisure. Prior to embarkation, enjoy a highlight tour of Barcelona en route to the ship.

Day 3 - At Sea

Day 4 - Motril, Spain
Today we explore Granada’s Alhambra Palace, a 9th-century architectural treasure and one of Spain’s most important attractions.

Day 5 - Cadiz, Spain
Today’s journey takes us to Seville for a historical city tour, a visit to the Alcázar, and a flamenco dance performance.

Day 6 - Portimão, Portugal
Beautiful beaches and bird-watching are today’s highlights. We’ll sail up the Silves River where storks and herons are abundant.

Day 7 - At Sea

Day 8 - Figuera da Foz, Portugal
In Coimbra, a university town with splendid architecture, galleries and cafés, you’ll be treated to soulful fado singing.

Day 9 - Oporto, Portugal
After a guided tour of the Vila Nova de Gaia port wine caves, with a tasting of their famous product, you’ll know your port.

Day 10 - La Coruña, Spain
We explore the 12th-century cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, a pilgrimage center and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 11 - Santander, Spain
We’ll travel from Santander to Bilbão and visit the Guggenheim museum or the Altamira Caves famous for prehistoric art.

Day 12 - Bordeaux river cruising / Bordeaux, France
Spend an evening in an elegant château where you’ll enjoy gracious hospitality and dine on French cuisine and wines.

Day 13 - Bordeaux / Down river cruising, France
Enjoy a half-day excursion through the French countryside to Saint Emilion in the heart of the wine-producing region for a tour and tasting.

Day 14 - Belle-Ile-en-Mer, France
We will launch the ship’s Zodiac boats in search of wildlife along France’s dramatic Brittany coastline. (Zodiac landing or touring)

Day 15 - St. Malo, France
From St. Malo we’ll travel to Mt. Saint Michel, an 11th-century Normandy castle set on its own island in western France.

Day 16 - Honfleur, France
Discover the sites of decisive WWII battles on our visit to the Normandy beaches and the nearby military cemetery or visit the town of Bayeux with its famous historic tapestry of William the Conqueror.

Day 17 - Honfleur, France
Disembark or continue your journey with the next voyage.
