This magnificent Alaskan adventure combines both the Coastal Odyssey and Voyage to the Bering Sea itineraries into one grand journey. Follow the path of the famed railroad magnate,
Edward Harriman, on his scientific 1899 expedition. Travel from Vancouver,
along the coast of British Columbia and Alaska, through the Bering Sea and across the International Date Line and the Arctic Circle and venture into Russia.

25 Days / 24 Nights - Vancouver to Anchorage or Reverse
- Day 1 - Set Sail from Vancouver, British Columbia
- Transfer to the Spirit of Oceanus at Vancouver's inner harbor. Sail under the Lion's Gate Bridge as your panoramic cruise begins. D
- Days 2-3 - Cruising British Columbia
- Over the next two days, you will sail sheltered waterways lined by the evergreen wilderness of the Great Bear Rainforest that lead you north toward Alaska. These nutrient-rich waters are home to whales and dolphins.
- Stop for a visit at a remote port of call along the lush British Columbia Inside Passage to explore life in this beautiful, serene region. BLD
- Day 4 - Misty Fjords National Monument and Metlakatla
- The dramatic granite cliffs of Misty Fjords National Monument welcome you to Alaska's grandeur as you explore spectacular Behm Canal, a glacially-carved fjord where six inlets converge. National Forest Service Kayak Rangers join you onboard to offer information about this area.
- The Tsimshian community of Metlakatla shares a dance performance at their tribal long house. BLD
- Day 5 - Petersburg
- Winding Wrangell Narrows leads to the Norwegian-founded, bustling fishing village of Petersburg, where you will be entertained by local folk dancers. BLD
- Day 6 - Tracy Arm Fjord and Frederick Sound
- Cruise up Tracy Arm toward the twin Sawyer Glaciers, where steep granite cliffs line waterways choked with icebergs. Search the waters for humpback whales, seals, sea lions and porpoises in Frederick Sound. BLD
- Day 7 - Skagway
- Relive the Gold Rush in the picturesque setting of Skagway, the starting place for many early gold seekers. This is the home of the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway. BLD
- Day 8 - Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve
- Realize the beauty of majestic Glacier Bay National Park, as we cruise looking for wildlife and glacier activity in remote bays. A Park Service Ranger and a Native Cultural Interpreter join us on board to help spot
wildlife and offer information on this evolving area. BLD
- Day 9 - Sitka
- Breathtaking waterways lead to Sitka, the one-time capital of Russian America, home to a wealth of historical art and artifacts. Stroll the totem-lined forest trail at Sitka National Historic Park. BLD
- Day 10 - Gulf of Alaska Cruising
- Snowcapped mountains, some soaring to 15,000 feet, line the northern horizon today as you enjoy a full day of life at sea. BLD
- Day 11 - Prince William Sound
- Keep your binoculars and camera handy as we explore the secluded wildlife-rich islands and iceberg-filled fjords in Prince William Sound. Our years of exploration here enable us to show you the very best of the hidden wildlife wonders. BLD
- Day 12 - Whittier
- Located at the head of Passage Canal, spend the day in Whittier. Optional activities may include kayaking or traveling to Anchorage. BLD
- Day 13 - Wilderness Cruising
- Take in the scenery along the rugged coastline of Kenai Fjords National Park, looking for orcas, otters and puffins. BLD
- Day 14 - Kodiak
- Harriman's party spent July 4, 1899, here in Kodiak. Situated at the crossroads of the world's most productive cornrnercial fishing grounds, your day includes sightseeing at the Baranov Museurn, the Alutiiq Museurn and the Fish Tech Center. BLD
- Day 15 - Katmai National Park
- Watch for brown bears browsing the shorelines as you explore the rarely visited Geographic Harbor, an important stop for migrating birds like the Arctic tern. BLD
- Day 16 - Shumagin Islands
- Step ashore frorn inflatable excursion craft to a sparsely inhabited island. Exarnine sea life in the tide pools and adrnire the 20-million-year-old petrified wood on the beach. Explore Haystack Rocks, home to seabirds, seals and sea lions. BLD
- Day 17 - Dutch Harbor
- Here on Unalaska Island in the Aleutians, sightseeing includes the Museurn of the Aleutians, and the World War II Memorial Park. BLD
- Day 18 - Pribilof Islands
- On St. George, local guides take you to prerniurn viewing sites to see fur seals and seabirds, including puffins, auklets and murres. BLD
- Day 19 - Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge
- Visit remote Nunivak Island. You may spot wild rnusk oxen and reindeer in this off-the-beaten-path locale. BLD
- Days 20-22 - Exploring the Bering Sea
- Clear customs into Russia and take a tour of Provideniya. Search the rugged shoreline of Russia's Chukotka
Peninsula. In three days of flexible exploration, you may also visit:
- Little Diomede Separated from Russia's Big Diomede by less than two miles and the International Date Line.
- Novoye Chapuno This Russian Yupik village claims ethnic kinship to Eskimos in Alaska.
- Savoogna Hailed as the "Walrus Capital of the World." The Natives here are subsistence hunters and ivory carvers, living off the sea and land. These Alaskan Eskimos travel around their treeless domain by all-terrain vehicles. BLD
- Yanrakynnot Chukchi subsistence hunters venture from this village to hunt walrus, whales, and other sea creatures. A fascinating archaeological site. Whale Bone Alley, runs along the shore for many miles. BLD
- Day 23 - The Arctic Circle
- Today cruise far north, perhaps far enough to cross the Arctic Circle. Possible whale sightings include grays, orcas and bowheads. BLD
- Day 24 - Nome to Anchorage
- See the vitality and spirit of Nome with a brief sightseeing tour before leaving on your flight to Anchorage. Upon arrival in Anchorage. you will be transferred to the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel to spend a relaxing evening nestled between the Chugach Mountains and the shoreline of Cook Inlet. BLD
- Day 25 - Anchorage
- Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

- Day 25 - Anchorage to Denali National Park and Preserve via Motorcoach and Rail
- Travel by motorcoach to Talkeetna, where you will board a deluxe domed railcar for your journey to Denali National Park. Cross the high trestle at Hurricane Gulch, and ascend via Broad Pass into the Alaska Range. The domed cars allow spectacular views on both sides of the train, inclUding (when weather permits) sweeping views of snowcapped peaks and Mt. McKinley. Also known as "Denali, the Great One," the highest mountain in North America soars to 20,320 feet. Lunch is available for purchase aboard the train. On arrival enjoy an exclusive presentation by a naturalist from the Denali Education Center and overnight at a comfortable Denali hotel. BD
- Day 26 - Denali Exploration
- An expert guide takes you on your chosen bus tour' into Denali National Park to look for wildlife and experience summer in the subalpine tundra. Following your Park tour, you have time to enjoy the Park on your own or venture out with any of the optional rafting, flightseeing or other adventure excursions we can arrange for you. B
- Day 27 - Denali National Park to Fairbanks
- Travel north to Fairbanks by comfortable motorcoach. You will have a delightful day of sightseeing, including a visit to the University of Alaska Museum of the North and a ride down the Chena River on an authentic sternwheeler riverboat. Riverboats have been one of the most popular means of transportation in the north for over a century. Overnight at your comfortable Fairbanks hotel. BLD
- Day 28 - Leave for home
- Transfer to the Fairbanks Airport for your flight home.
