The most popular itinerary is now even better!

Explore the secluded inlets and pristine bays of Alaska's Inside Passage. Sail the narrow waterways of Tracy Arm, along steep rock walls jutting thousands of feet into the sky. Listen as blocks of ice, floating jewels of white, break apart, snapping and cracking as fresh water melts into the salty sea.

Watch for humpback whales, black bears, harbor seals and kittiwakes. Pick up a conversation with a fisherman in the old Russian fur-trading village of Sitka. And enjoy an onboard presentation by the Misty Fiords Kayak Rangers— U.S. Forest Service Rangers who patrol the Misty Fiords National Monument by kayak.

Whales Guaranteed!

Whales Guaranteed

Whales are guaranteed to be sighted on any Alaska's Inside Passage cruise. If a whale is not sighted on your voyage, Cruise West will refund $250 of your cruise price after your return home.

“Would you Like Land With That Cruise?”

Denali National Park & Preserve

Many travelers plan on visiting Alaska just once in a lifetime. A trip to Alaska wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Denali National Park & Preserve. Denali is not only home to Mt. McKinley, whose 20,320-foot peak is the tallest in North America, but it encompasses a 6-million-acre subarctic ecosystem of extraordinary beauty and astonishing wildlife.

Grizzly bears, caribou, moose and Dall’s sheep are just a few of the species that call Denali their home. Cruise West offers fully guided land tours into the heart of Denali National Park offering a seamless all inclusive Alaska experience. (Land tours are available as a pre-cruise add on to this cruise)

Day 1 - Arrive in Juneau
Arrive in Juneau. Transfer to Goldbelt Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, take some time to explore Juneau or take an optional shore excursion. Board your ship near dinner time. D

Day 2 - Frederick Sound & Tracy Arm
Awake this morning to humpback whales in Frederick Sound. Cruise under Tracy Arm’s sheer 1,500-foot vertical cliffs toward the twin Sawyer Glaciers. BLD

Day 3 - Wrangell - Wrangell Narrows - Petersburg
Wake early this morning as you'll make a stop in Wrangell, located at the Northern tip of Wrangell Island. Here you will tour their local museum and see a collection of Wrangell’s early history. After traversing the Wrangell Narrows, receive a warm welcome at the Norwegian-heritage fishing village of Petersburg, inaccessible to large cruise ships. In Petersburg enjoy the Leikarring Dancers perform in the Sons of Norway Hall. BLD

Day 4 - Wilderness Cruising
Discover the joys of wilderness exploration. Your Captain and Exploration Leaders know these waters intimately – and weather permitting you’ll use inflatable craft for closer review of these remote shores. BLD

Day 5 - Sitka
Only small ships can negotiate Peril Strait and Sergius Narrows, the “inside” route of Sitka on Baranof Island. A walk through Sitka’s National Historic Park reveals towering totems watching over the temperate rainforest. Keep an eye out for playful otters, Sitka black-tailed deer and bald eagles. BLD

Day 6 - Icy Strait
Watch for gentle humpbacks as they feast on small fish and tiny krill churned by upwelling currents from the Pacific Ocean. Watch for behaviors such as spouting, sounding, breaching, flipper-slapping and lunge feeding. You may see rare bubble feeding if you’re very lucky.

The Coves and inlets of Icy Strait offer enticing opportunities to get out and explore by inflatable craft. Be sure to keep a watchful eye for Steller’s sea lions, orcas, harbor seals and porpoise. BLD

Day 7 - Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve
Declared by many to be the most extraordinary and untouched place in the world, Glacier Bay was first established as a National Monument in 1925 and has since enjoyed the highly protected status of National Park, Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. Glacier Bay National Park shows you the earth in transition. The glaciers here are receding rapidly, leaving their wake scoured cliffs and deep fjords.

Glide past massive glaciers of all varieties (hanging, tidewater, and valley) and soak up the expert guidance of a National Park Service Ranger and the Native Cultural Interpreter who will board the ship for your visit. BLD

Day 8 - Juneau
Disembark in Juneau this morning, and transfer to the airport for your flight home. B
